Jack, a young spinal surgeon, had come to Australia to find his estranged father,
who also was a doctor, and not just a doctor, but head of surgery. And Jack did
find him-- dead in a morgue. He was taking his father's body back home to
Los Angeles on the Oceanic flight 815.
Jack's the only doctor known on the island, and therefore everyone trusted him
completly and, soon, the leadership was in his hands. When he chased after
his father in the jungle, he found the
caves with fresh water running right
beside them. And because of its natural shelter and the water, he wanted to
move the entire group there, but only got a few with him. Even though he won't
let anyone know, there is a hidden, yet powerful, attraction between him and
Kate. While he gets an enemy and competeter in Sawyer, when he also finds
a liking for the beautiful fugutive.
His father was constantly nagging on Jack because he saw him as
emotionally weak. Still, he wanted his son to perform and take on his role
when he was gone. After a horrible surgery, which ended up with a pregnant
woman's death, Jack had to make an important decision, which would be
devistating for his father, if he made the right choice. And because of his
maturity and braveness, he did make the right choice, which destroyed his
father's career completly. But Jack didn't only have an unhappy past. After a
woman came in to the hospital Jack worked on, with her spinal broken, he
promised her to fix her. And after he had accomplished that, they became a
happy couple, and eventually got married. But the marriage didn't last and
therefore there is no longer a ring on Jack's finger, and there is a possibility
for Jack to end up with
Kate.
