Kate, a criminal on the run, had been arrested in Australia by the U.S. marshall
who had been chasing her for a really long time. And under his custody, Kate
was leaving Sydney's airport on Oceanic fligh 815, in handcuffs.
Kate sees an independent woman, who can take care of herself, and well-liked
by everyone around her. At first, nobody knew about her dreadful past, but when
they did find out she was a fugitive they pulled away from her. The one person
who accepted her despite her past was Jack, which she appreciated. But
everyone soon came to like her again. She has an enormous power on men,
and were very capable of manipulating them. The two men who got under
Kate's charm was Jack and Sawyer, and the two men she also has feelings
for. After Sawyer came back from the raft accident, very wounded, she felt
like she needed to protect him and stand by his side, considering she was the
only one who saw Sawyer as a good human being. But when her past came to
haunt her, her emotions couldn't controle themselves, and she was soon in
Jack's embrace while kissing him.
After her father left when she was one years old, she was raised by her mother
and her step-father. But the man who took her father's place was anything but
nice to her mother, and beat her up, in front of Kate's eyes. She grew up in
his home, watching what he did, and when she was old enough she couldn't
take it nomore, and blew his house up, with him in it. After, she ran away and
lived a dangerous life. Everywhere she went, there was someone after her.
She went to see her married child-hood friend and love, and to her despise, he
whinded up dead, because of her. Because of her running. A model-plane,
which belonged to that man, she risked her life for to get. She pulled a bank
robbery in New Mexico to get it back, which she did. But after hiding in
Australia for a while, the man who had kept her under roof gave her in to
the U.S. marshall, who was going to take her home...
